EXPLORING CORRELATION BETWEEN COUNTY RURALITY/METROPOLITAN STATUS AND THE PROVIDER TYPE VISITED USING CHLAMYDIA REPORTED CASES (2018).

Data Sources:
USDA ERS – Urban Influence Codes & ERS/USDA Briefing Room – Measuring Rurality: Urban Influence Codes (archive-it.org) & Vital and Health Statistics Report Series 2, Number 166 April 2014 (cdc.gov)
Limitations of this particular analysis:
- will need to be repeated for multiple different years and different STDs to determine if there is skew or additional relationship between unstudied variables
- relies on inefficient data cleaning / re-sorting program that has not been approved to be used as a standard tool –> there is significant individual bias in this regard
- for 2018 data, there was a larger portion of “other” provider types even after the re-categorization program was run and further cleaning was conducted
